Have you ever experienced tooth pain?
Does the tooth pain worsen when you lie on the bed, in sleeping position?
Pain
originating in & around the tooth and jaw region is referred as tooth pain.
The
outermost layer of the tooth is Enamel; Dentin is the inner layer to enamel and
the core of the tooth has Pulp chamber which has the tissues with the blood and
nerve supply to the tooth.

Inflammation
of the pulp tissue result in toothpain.There
are multiple reasons for the tooth
pain .The most common reason of tooth pain is a carious tooth. The cause of carious tooth is acid from
bacteria dissolving the hard tissues of the teeth enamel and dentin .The acid
is produced by the bacteria when they break down food debris or sugar on the
tooth surface. Simple sugars in food are the bacteria's primary energy
source and thus a diet high in simple sugar is a risk factor.

Poor oral
hygiene, prolonged tartar on the teeth and gums results in gum disease, which
causes inflammation of gums, bleeding & redness.
Most often, the gum diseases are silent or
result in mild pain, but sometimes they may cause severe tooth pain. Broken tooth,
tooth with some cracks, tooth with receding gums, loose tooth often causes moderate
to severe tooth pain,
especially while chewing the food.

Most of the
times we try to find some home remedies or intake of medication like
antibiotics or painkillers to reduce the tooth pain. There will be a temporary relief from
the pain which may reoccur after couple of days.
Most of us
were not aware that the permanent solution for the tooth pain is to eliminate the root cause
of it.
A visit to
the Dentist can rule out the cause for the tooth pain and the necessary treatment options can
solve the issue and aid us to improve our dental health .The treatment options
like tooth fillings, root canal treatment can restore the tooth and relieve the
tooth pain forever.
It is always
advisable to brush your teeth twice daily, floss your teeth after every meal
and visit Dentist regularly, at least once in every 6 months even when there is
no tooth pain, this
will help us to prevent most of the tooth and gum problems and the dental
health can be improved.
